A day in the BIG HOUSE

Last Saturday Loyd Carr (coach of the M go BLUE Football team) held his annual Womans Football Academy to raise money to fight cancer. Suz and Don's Aunt Sandy attended, they are divided up into teams and each team was coached by U of M players, this is one of the few times that anyone other then the players are allowed to enter
the Big House through the players tunnel. After six hours of hard practice and and playing on the field they were both ready for the showers and a hot tub.

Nick with a little help from his Grandma Karen made up a "GO STATE" sign and had taped it to his chest under his shirt, he revealed it to his dad at a very appropriate time, after they were inside the Big House.

Also last week we spent a day at the Toledo Zoo and the another long long day at Greenfield Village, but both days I forgot my camera (first time in 20 years) so I don't have any pictures to post of those trips.

A No-Hitter in Motown

Just in case any of you missed it last night,
Justin Verlander
, Rookie of the Year for 2006, Pitched a NO-HITTER at Comerica Park last night.
The last Tiger to pitch a No-No was Jack Morris in 1984 and he did it on the road, the last No-No pitched in Detroit was by Virgil Trucks way back in 1952 at Briggs Stadium, Cathy was about three months old then.
It only took Verlander 110 pitches to complete the game, his 109th pitch was a fastball, 102 MPH.

Now the reason this NO-HITTER is so historic is that Don, Suz, Nick & Rachel were at the game to bring the luck of the Squiers to help Verlander out. One of Suz's clients gave her tickets for a game in April but Nick had a game that night so he told her she could have the tickets for this game instead, Nick was a little upset because the other tickes were for the White Soxs and he didn't want to see Milwaukee. Bet he's glad he saw them know.
