We ended our stay in central Texas with a day trip to the Alamo, maybe it was just us, but what a waste of time. This is the center piece of Texas History and it's nothing but a tourist trap, located in the center of San Antonio it is surrounded by the type of tourist shops that you would find at Niagara Falls, very little history explained here, they do have the names of those that died at the Alamo posted, in about 20 different places. The biggest thing here is the gift shop. After everything else we have found in Texas this was a big disappointment. But then again that's just our opinion.
